As an Iranian woman whose freedom has always been limited by society and government, I could now be the master of my world. There are no rules or boundaries. It is just me, but that is all I need."

Painting has helps Negar to slow down the craziness of the world. Sitting on her balcony after work & mixing up colors, it feels like time has stopped. A pure & simple joy to experience. Negar spends hours being creative & loves every moment. It frees up space in her mind to think & imagine a colorful world beyond this current scary illusion.

Like many others, the past two years have been quite challenging. The loss of loved ones & being away from family, alongside many other reasons, made Negar go through a dark phase in life. As an introvert finding it hard to communicate  emotions, & found magic in art. It helped her to express feeling & tell it to the world in an abstract form. Creating each piece made Negar face her emotions & fell in love with that process. It's a powerful mediation form, quieting the mind, observing, & having compassion for her art. "Each piece reflects my soul in a specific spacetime."
